Topics for this year’s Global Review range from difficulties in the Congo River basin to Pakistan’s troubles arising from the 2010 floods to hopeful trends in Asia. For intelligence fans, two papers concern the use of open-source intelligence—defining it and using it to strategically apply knowledge of geopolitics to denied areas, countries where the United States has no diplomatic mission or intelligence footprint. Finally, we present consideration of how and whether gender-based differences might influence international relations.
